DENVER –The honor guard marched in to kick off Veteran’s Day ceremonies at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver Sunday.

Each year, the tribute honors the men and women who currently serve our country, as well as the fallen heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Sunday’s remembrance also included a ceremonial wreath laying and a traditional 21-gun salute. Colorado Senator Mark Udall also spoke to the crowd.

President Obama commemorated Veterans Day in the nation’s capital. Obama made remarks at Arlington National Cemetery, thanking veterans for their service.

“We take care of our own. We take care of our veterans. We take care of your families, not just by saluting you on one day, once a year, but by fighting for you and your families every day of every year. That’s our obligation, a sacred obligation to all of you,” Obama said.
