Fort Carson soldier arrested for sexually assaulting children

FORT CARSON, Colo. – A Fort Carson soldier was arrested for a series of sex offenses against children that occurred over the past two years, according to police.

Investigators said 31-year-old Aaron Gregory Lucas exposed himself and lured, or attempted to lure, several young girls under the age of 12 in the Fountain, Colorado Springs, and unincorporated El Paso County areas.

Police said Lucas was involved in a pattern of sex-related crimes since the summer of 2010, when he was stationed in Fort Carson.

Lucas is facing charges of kidnapping, sexual assault on a child, enticement of a child and indecent exposure, according to a spokesperson with the Fountain Police Department.

A task force was created with investigators from different departments to look into the details of each incident.  The task force involves the Fountain Police Department, the Colorado Springs Police Department, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, the Fourth Judicial District Attorney’s Office and the U.S. Army Criminal Investigations Division, according to police.
