DENVER – Several people including staff members and guests were evacuated from the Brown Palace Hotel Sunday afternoon.

The Denver Post reported that people stood outside in the cold for about a half hour after a bomb threat forced people to evacuate the building at about 2 p.m. Sunday.

Police searched the building and allowed everyone back inside the hotel around 2:35 p.m., the paper reported.

The Brown Palace’s 25th annual Champagne Cascade took place at the hotel at noon on Sunday. Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper spoke at the event earlier, according to the Brown Palace’s Facebook page.
