Boulder woman stabed in chest; police arrest family member

BOULDER, Colo. — An elderly Boulder woman is recovering after she was allegedly stabbed in the chest by her mentally-ill son Monday evening.

According to the Daily Camera, police have a man in custody. Boulder Police have not confirmed that man’s identity, only that he is a family member of the victim.  

The woman, who has not been identified, reportedly knocked on a neighbor’s door for help after she had been stabbed.

Police searched the woman’s home at 4820 Baldwin Place in Boulder, but did not locate the son.

The son then allegedly called police and told them he had walked to the area of Independence Road and 57th street, where police took him into custody.

The victim was out of surgery late Monday night. Boulder police are continuing the investigation.
