NEW SEWICKLEY TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A 9-year-old Pennsylvania girl was shot in the shoulder by a relative who mistook her for a skunk during a Halloween party.
Police say the girl was wearing a black outfit and a black hat with a white tassel attached to it when a relative shot her with a shotgun Saturday night.
Paramedics took her to Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, which about 50 minutes away from the shooting scene. She underwent surgery at the hospital.
Police have made no arrests during the investigation so far.
