LITTLEON, Colo. — Three suspected burglars were caught red-handed when police found them hiding in two Littleton residences that didn’t belong to them — or their parents.

Littleton police said they apprehended three juveniles in plain daylight after receiving a call that a burglary was in process on Aug. 29 at approximately 1:50 p.m. Homeowners on the 5200 block of South Prescott Street told police they had seen two males running from the back of their residence.

During an ensuing search, officers said they noticed an open garage door at a nearby residence on the 5200 block of South Crocker Way. It was there that officers found a juvenile male crawling out of a window and a second hiding inside the residence.

It didn’t end there. Officers continued their search and found a third male suspect hiding in a third residence — one that had also been burglarized.

There has been no report on any of the items the juveniles were allegedly attempting to steal. The identity of the three males has not been released.

All three were arrested on charges of second degree burglary, criminal attempt to commit second degree burglary and theft.
