Two men who narrowly avoided death during a horrifying accident at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, near Colorado Springs, opened up to CNN’s Piers Morgan Thursday night.

“There’s that moment we got airborne, that seemed like an eternity,”  Yuri Kouznetsov told Morgan.

Kouznetsov and his driver, Jeremy Foley, flew off the same turn of the 12-mile track where another racer had a similar accident last year.

“You always think of it in the back of your mind, but you never think it’s going to happen to you,” Foley told the CNN host.

The pair’s Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, modified by Evolution Dynamics out of Texas, was destroyed in the crash.

When Morgan asked if the pair would attempt racing again, Kouznetsov said “probably not tomorrow… but time will tell.”
