COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A male reticulated giraffe calf was born Tuesday at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. He’s expected to be outside and ready for visitors and zoo guests by Saturday.

The Colorado Springs zoo is home to the world’s most prolific captive reticulated giraffe herd, with 195 births since 1954. The zoo currently has 21 giraffe and guests are allowed to feed some of them.
