GUNBARREL, Colo. — Despite revival attempts by emergency personnel, an 8-year-old boy died from an unknown cause in Gunbarrel Tuesday night.

The incident is being investigated by the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, which responded to a call along with members of the Boulder Rural and Mountain View Fire Protection Districts that the 8-year-old was unresponsive in a single family home located in Gunbarrel.

The first deputy who arrived found the boy was not breathing and started CPR. The boy was later taken to Boulder Community Hospital where he died.

The Boulder Sheriff’s Office said foul play is not suspected at this time. The Boulder Coroner’s Officer will release the name of the boy once he is identified and his next of kin is notified.
