Fire at Greenwood Point Apartments, July 5, 2012

DENVER — The Englewood Fire Department responded to a structure fire Thursday morning and were able to extinguish the blaze in less than 30 minutes after it had charred just one unit.

The fire was reported at 7:06 a.m. at the Greenwood Point Apartments on the 5300 Block of South Broadway. 21 firefighters from Englewood and Littleton put out the fire, which was contained to a single unit and caused only minor smoke damage to another, by 7:35 a.m.

No injuries were reported. Six residents will be displaced temporarily until carbon monoxide levels drop. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
