BOULDER, Colo. — Crews found the body of a young male Friday evening in the foothills of Boulder while searching for a missing University of Colorado student.

According to the Daily Camera, 19-year-old Nicholas Marc Valore was reported missing by a classmate on Thursday after he had not shown up to class all week.  Police contacted his parents and roommate who said they had not heard from him since Sunday.

On Thursday night, Valore’s car was found in the Parking lot of the National Center for Atmospheric Research lab, close to a hiking trail Valore was known to frequently climb.

Police asked the public for help in the search for Valore early Friday. At about 7:15 Friday evening, a body was found at the base of a steep, rocky ridge.

The identity of the body has not yet been confirmed. An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday.
