Accident scene at Speer and Lincoln

DENVER – Two garbage trucks collided Wednesday morning at the intersection of Speer Boulevard and Lincoln Street in Denver, sending one man to the hospital.

Police say one the driver of one truck rear-ended the other in the northbound lane of Speer at about 7:30 a.m.

Firefighters pulled that driver from his vehicle and took him to nearby Denver Health Medical Center. 

The severity of his injuries was not immediately unknown.

The accident closed three lanes of Speer, causing major traffic backups during the morning commute.
