LOS ANGELES – History is not on the Denver Nuggets’ side. They have only won 5 playoff games against the Los Angeles Lakers, losing 20.

Tonight, tip-off at Staples Center is 8:30 p.m. Mountain Time.

Denver has only won four of the last 29 road games. Right now, the Lakers lead the series 3-1. They can win it all tonight, but they won’t. I believe the Nuggets will take Game 5.

Timofey Mozgov and Javale McGee will actually rebound in the 4th quarter. They will contest shots. Guards Ty Lawson and Arron Afflalo will contribute offensively. “Manimal” Kenneth Faried will be… The Manimal.

The Lakers are too confident.

At today’s shoot around, center Andrew Bynum said “I don’t want to go back to Denver… Closeout games are actually kind of easy. Teams will fold if you come out and play hard.”

But the Nuggets won’t fold.

If there is one thing the Nuggets are consistent at this season, it’s their inconsistency. The Nuggets know how to play with a chip on their shoulder. And they know the Lakers aren’t interested in coming back to Denver.

The Nuggets have never come back to win a playoff series being down 3 games. It’s unlikely they’ll break that trend. But they will have one more home game, Game 6, Thursday night.
