MILWAUKEE — A bruised toe kept Michael Cuddyer out of the starting lineup Friday night, but it could not prevent him from delivering the go-ahead single in the ninth.

Pinch-hitting for Dexter Fowler with a runner on third and one out, Cuddyer drove a 1-1 curveball from Brewers closer John Axford back through the middle to lead the Rockies to a 4-3 victory at Miller Park.

Rafael Betancourt closed things out in the bottom half of the inning for his fourth save of the season, stranding a runner at second with one out.
