DENVER — Todd Helton’s RBI double with two out in the eighth inning gave the Rockies a 7-6 come-from-behind victory over the D-backs on Friday night at Coors Field in front of 30,642.

Carlos Gonzalez singled off Bryan Shaw (0-1) with one out in the eighth and took third when first baseman Paul Goldschmidt committed an error by letting Shaw’s pickoff throw squirt past him. Troy Tulowitzki, who had three hits and a walk in his previous plate appearances, struck out, but Helton lashed an opposite-way double that completed a comeback from a 6-2 deficit in the third inning, as the Rockies improved to 2-2 on what will be a nine-game opening stand for the home schedule.
