CASTLE ROCK -- The search lasted 12 days, and now a dog who escaped from an animal hospital is back with his Castle Rock family.

We first told you about "Captain Jack" last week.

Captain Jack broke free during a walk at the Cherished Companions Animal Hospital where he had been neutered.

Since then the Legrotte family and volunteers have been putting up posters, setting traps and searching for the dog.

And Easter morning, two different people called saying they had seen Captain Jack.

“Wow,” said Craig Legrotte. “Probably one of the most amazing feelings…one of the best Easters we will ever have!”

The Legrotte's have no idea where Captain Jack has been over the past 12 days.

They say he was skittish at first, and needs a bath but otherwise seems OK.
