Shots fired after CSU officer hit by truck

FORT COLLINS, Colo. — A man was arrested after hitting a Colorado State University¬† campus police officer during a traffic stop on the west side of campus early Thursday morning.

At about 12:30 a.m., the officer was hit by the truck while attempting to pullover the vehicle.

According to CSU Spokesperson Mike Hooker, the officer fired a shot at the truck in response. The driver then got out of the vehicle and fled on foot.

The suspect was taken into custody a short time later.

Neither the officer nor the driver was hurt. Fort Collins Police are investigating the case.
