Train hits, kills pedestrian in Fort Collins

A freight train hit and killed a pedestrian on Mason St. near Magnolia St. in Fort Collins, Colo.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. — A freight train hit and killed a Pedestrian late Monday afternoon in Fort Collins.

Poudre Fire spokesman Patrick Love says it happened along Mason St. near Magnolia St.

Fort Collins Police say witnesses told them a man walked up to the train and crawled underneath it. One of the box cars ran over him and killed him.

The Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railroad train stopped about a mile away.

Fort Collins Police blocked streets around the accident scene while they conducted their investigation.
