AURORA, Colo. — An Aurora father says his family had a rude awakening Thursday morning when a car crashed through their home and into the children’s bedroom.

Kevin Mullen says at around 1:45 a.m. the car went through his fence and slammed into his home on the 3800 block of Uravan. His 9-year-old and 12-year-old sons were both sleeping in the room at the time, but were not injured.

The driver then backed up and made a U-turn in the backyard before taking off, according to Mullen.

Police are searching for the driver and a vehicle described as a dark grey SUV, similar to a Nissan Xterra.
