Bell Plumbing and Heating van rolls over in hit-and-run crash

DENVER — A heating and plumbing van rolled over and landed on its side after it collided with a car near E. 13th Ave. and Downing St. in Denver Wednesday afternoon.

Denver Police spokesman Sonny Jackson says a grey sedan ran a red light and “t-boned” a Bell Plumbing and Heating van. He says a black man wearing a black coat who was driving the car took off running from the scene after the crash.

A more detailed description of the suspect was not available. Witnesses say the car was stolen. Jackson could not confirm that.

Ray Munnings saw the whole thing happen. “I was shaking quite a bit. Yeah, it was that loud. I saw the Bell truck lift up in the air and start spinning and it ended up on its side. So, the impact of it was just unbelievable.”

The driver of the van did not have any serious injuries.

There were some traffic delays in the neighborhood while crews cleaned up the wreckage.
