ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. – A 23-year-old house cleaner is under arrest for -what authorities believe- is a series of jewelry and cash thefts from homes she was cleaning.

Investigators with the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office say Liliana Calzadillas-Gonzalez was captured on camera stealing jewelry from a single home on Feb. 10. The investigation, however, was prompted by five victims who came forward to report items missing from their homes.

Sheriff’s investigators installed hidden cameras inside the home of a victim that was scheduled for cleaning services.

“Several pieces of marked jewelry were placed inside the home and a surveillance team was positioned nearby,” the Sheriff’s Office said.

On the morning of Feb. 10, investigators say Calzadillas-Gonzalez spent five hours inside the home. Afterward, she was stopped for a minor traffic violation.

“Upon viewing the digital images captured on the hidden cameras, Investigators determined that a theft of jewelry had occurred and Gonzalez was responsible for the criminal behavior,” the Sheriff’s Office said. “Several items of jewelry were found inside Gonzalez’s vehicle, including a piece of jewelry marked by Investigators, and jewelry that was later identified as belonging to the victimized homeowner.”

Calzadillas-Gonzalez was arrested on a felony theft charge.

She is being held in the Arapahoe County Jail on a $6,000 bond.
