FIRESTONE, Colo. — Police arrested a man who is accused of poisoning two dogs in Firestone. Both dogs died.

Joseph Losinski was taken into custody Tuesday and charged with two counts of aggravated cruelty to animals.

The arrest follows an investigation that began August 8.

“The dogs’ owner had let the animals outside in the early morning, only to return 20 minutes later to find their bodies,” says Firestone Police spokeswoman Kristi Ritter. “Both dogs appeared to have died within a short time frame.”

This happened in the 500 block of 5th St.

Police say they obtained a search warrant and investigators developed probable cause to arrest Losinski.
