Anchor: KDVR, Fox31 Denver, is looking for a dynamic, engaging co-anchor. The ideal candidate should have at least seven years anchoring and hard news reporting experience and should excel at breaking news coverage, both in the field and in the studio.  Must be a team player who is passionate about journalism, storytelling, connecting with a community and being a newsroom leader.  In addition to anchoring, you will be required to generate enterprise stories and long-form, promotable pieces for key sweeps periods. Broadcast journalism or related degree, familiarity with multi-platform content production/distribution and social media proficiency is also required. Morning Co-Anchor: KWGN, Colorado’s Own Channel Two, the CW affiliate in Denver, is looking for a dynamic, engaging co-anchor for our morning newscast “Daybreak.” The ideal candidate should have at least seven years anchoring and reporting experience, excel at breaking news coverage and be comfortable in a format that includes both hard news and feature-oriented content, including consumer, health and entertainment stories.

You must be a team player who is passionate about journalism, storytelling, connecting with a community and being a newsroom leader.

In addition to co-anchoring this four-hour show, you will be required to generate enterprise stories and long-form, promotable pieces for key sweeps periods.

Photojournalist: Fox 31 KDVR and CW 2 KWGN have a position open for a staff Photojournalist. Qualified candidate must be a creative storyteller and a motivated team player with a minimum of two year’s experience in all related fields including ENG truck operations and non-linear editing. Multimedia Journalist skills are preferred for this position. Candidate should possess a good understanding of how to produce, shoot, write, and report a comprehensive and visual story for multiple platforms including websites and over-the-air HD broadcasts. A clean driving record is required and must be submitted prior to employment.

Assignment Editor: KDVR/KWGN in Denver, Colorado seeks a dynamic journalist who thrives on breaking news, enterprise stories and aggressive coverage.

The ideal candidate understands how to cover spot news with urgency, attention to detail and an understanding of cross-platform, multi-media coverage. Must have excellent news judgment and instincts, with the ability to find stories that will help make our newscasts unique and distinctive. You must be an excellent communicator, a multi-tasker who can interact effectively with crews in the field and other assignment editors, producers, managers, and additional editorial and technical personnel in the station. Knowledge of newsroom computer systems, digital newsgathering technology, two-way radio communications and satellite booking required. Must be proficient on social media, with an understanding of how to best utilize Facebook, Twitter and other platforms.

You should actively cultivate sources for story ideas. BA or equivalent major market experience required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan and coordinate news coverage with managers, producers, reporters, photographers and other news department personnel.  Research and set up stories, confirm appointments with interviewees. Ensure efficient use of resources. Maintain the assignment board and newsroom computer system with the most up-to-date information about stories and crew locations. Confirm court cases and keep track of upcoming dates. Monitor law enforcement and fire/emergency frequencies on scanners. Participate in editorial meetings and pitch stories. Publish stories to web and post to social media platforms, as needed. Book guests and interviews as needed for special reports and projects. Part Time Editor/Studio Operator: KDVR/KWGN-TV, the FOX/CW stations in Denver, is looking for a part-time news editor and studio operator. This is a hybrid position that involves both video editing and operating handheld and jib cameras in the studio.

Our editors know that stories have a well -defined beginning, middle and end. They recognize good sound and video sequences, work well in a team environment and above all, communicate clearly. This individual must possess a good understanding of computers and have the ability to assemble material from multiple sources including staff photographer acquisition and various news feeds.

The ability to edit quickly and creatively while working under the stress of constant deadlines is a must.  The ideal candidate will also have experience working in a studio/team environment and be able to provide consistent and creative camera work.

A background as an editor or photographer in television news and a good working knowledge of non-linear equipment is a plus. If you have experience in Final Cut Pro and server based workflow and think of yourself as more than a technician grinding out vo/sots, this is your opportunity to CREATE stories in one of our eight digital edit suites.

Newscast Producer:  KDVR-TV Fox 31/KWGN Channel 2 in Denver has an immediate opening for a Newscast Producer.  We are looking for a Line Producer who is competitive, passionate, and aggressive with breaking news and severe weather coverage.

Excellent news judgment, communication skills, knowledge of contemporary production techniques, and social media proficiency are required. You will be expected to contribute ideas for new program segments and unique, enterprise stories. You should be able to bring a sense of urgency and immediacy to our newscasts.

Our ideal candidate should have at least three years of producing experience.  A college degree and knowledge of Colorado is preferred.

Creative Services Producer/Editor: FOX31 Denver and Colorado’s Own Channel 2 in Denver, Colorado have an immediate opening for a Creative Services Producer/Editor. 

We are seeking a flexible and creative producer who can do it all: write, edit, shoot, direct – in a fast-paced news promotions environment. In this position you’ll work with our talented team of producers and designers to create daily topicals, image promos, special report promos, and everything in between. 

Required skills: Strong Writing Skills, Final Cut Pro Studio and Camera skills (Canon 5D & Sony EX3)  

Preferred skills: After Effects and Photoshop.

A successful candidate must enjoy working in a collaborative environment, be able to meet tight deadlines, and be willing to work a flexible schedule if/when needed.  College degree or equivalent experience is essential.  Previous television promotions experience will help you stand out.

ENGINEERING

Television Software Developer:If you’ve ever dreamed of having your software development efforts seen by millions of people on a daily basis, this is your opportunity!

We are looking for an experienced software developer with the right mix of skills and attitude to join our team at KDVR Fox 31 Denver / Colorado’s Own KWGN in Denver, Colorado.

In this position you would be responsible for developing applications to support our state-of-the-art digital broadcast facility.  These applications include software to integrate graphics systems with newsroom automation platforms, Master Control monitoring and automation, production control room integration and workflow, and other functions involved with transmission, monitoring and testing.

The successful candidate will have at least a four-year degree in a technical field or comparable work experience.  You must have expert knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio/VBScript, PHP, Perl, Unix/Linux, and a good grasp of modern software development methodologies.  Experience with professional broadcast equipment is desirable, but not a requirement.  If you have experience playing with embedded computing technologies (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, PLCs, etc.) we’d love to hear from you.

A great attitude is a must.  We work hard and like what we do, and we want you to have the same mindset.  You must be a self-starter and enjoy solving problems that have never been solved before using your skills and ingenuity.

You will be working in a 24/7 broadcast facility involved in covering breaking news events. While most of the time you will work Monday through Friday during normal business hours, you will be required to work nights, weekends and holidays with very little advanced notice depending on the events of the day.
