Boris Sanchez joined the KDVR newsroom in August 2012, anchoring weekends and reporting during the week.
Before moving to Denver, Boris worked at the ABC affiliate in Redding, California, starting in 2010. While at KRCR, he produced and anchored the weekend newscasts, while reporting during the week. During his stint at KRCR, he covered national breaking news stories -- including the military operation that killed Osama Bin Laden and the shooting in Tuscon, Arizona that injured Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. He also reported on an array of local topics, including the ongoing conflicts caused by the booming medical marijuana business and Cal-Fire’s ongoing efforts to prepare for wildfires.
Boris graduated from Syracuse University in 2009, majoring in both Broadcast Journalism and International Relations. While completing his degree, he interned at WTVJ, the NBC affiliate in his hometown, Miami, FL.
Boris remains a rabid, loyal fan of all South Florida’s sports teams (yes, even the lowly Dolphins), enjoys mixed martial arts, and ridiculous, over-the-top action and horror movies. He also enjoys Cuban food, a good game of dominoes, and a sunny day at the beach.
