Westbound Alameda reopens after gas leak near Washington

DENVER —  A gas leak shut down the westbound lanes of East Alameda Avenue from South Washington Street to South Pennsylvania Street on Thursday morning, the Denver Police Department said.

The gas leak and closure was reported at about 11 a.m. Police said crews from Xcel Energe were on scene.

Police advised taking an alternate route. The lanes reopened about 1:45 p.m.
