NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Things got physical between the Broncos and Titans on Sunday, especially after a dirty low block on cornerback Chris Harris Jr.
It started after Titans receiver Harry Douglas went after Harris’ knee on a block. Harris remained on the ground holding his knee before walking to the sideline.
Douglas was not penalized for the hit.
On the next play, Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib went after Douglas and players from both teams joined in on the brawl.
Talib was penalized for a personal foul but was not ejected.
All players returned to the game soon afterward.
After the game, Harris and Talib had a lot to say about the hit and the scuffle. Harris demanded the league fine Douglas for the hit.
“Dude tried to end my career, plan and simple. I need to see that cash fine Monday,” Harris tweeted after the game before the post was taken down.
Meanwhile, Talib had some harsher words for Douglas.
“It was a dirty play by a sorry player,” Talib said. “He tried to do something dirty, so that’s why I’m going to beat his (behind).”
“You try to cut somebody’s knees? That isn’t right,” linebacker Shane Ray said. “When I turned around and saw him on the ground that’s when the explosion happened.”
Douglas viewed the situation a bit differently.
“I play the game of football, I play hard, I play tough,” Douglas said. “I wasn’t trying to hurt him. The last thing I’m trying to do is hurt somebody.
“But I am going to be tough and play the game the way it’s supposed to be played.”
