Woman found with severe head wounds in Brighton apartment parking lot

BRIGHTON, Colo. -- A 50-year-old woman was found in the parking lot of her apartment building suffering from severe head wounds early Tuesday morning, the Brighton Police Department said.

Officers were sent to the Sterling Park Townhomes (4242 E. Bromley Lane) just after midnight on a report of a woman on the ground and screaming.

Officers found the woman lying between two vehicles in the parking area between buildings D and E, police said.

The woman, who was not identified, was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The extent of her injuries is not known.
