BAILEY, Colo. —  A home burned to the ground after a fire broke out early Sunday morning, officials said.

More than two dozen emergency response personnel from Elk Creek Fire Rescue and Platte Canyon Fire Rescue responded to the home at 572 Holmes Gulch Road about 5:30 a.m., the Mountain Fire Information Duty Officers said in a statement.

When crews arrived, the home was completely engulfed in flames, officials said. Nine pieces of fire, rescue and EMS equipment were brought in to fight the fire, but the home was declared a total loss.

Everyone living in the home made it out safely, officials said. However, the residents have not yet been able to find all of their pets.

At about 8:30 a.m., officials said investigators were still working at the scene to determine the cause of the fire.
