DENVER - While zoomed-in on the sunrise this morning an airplane flies across the shot. It marks the start of back-to-back sunny days before the next snowstorm moves into Colorado on Sunday.
We've become accustomed to these dry, warm days so far this season. Ski areas are slowly opening after numerous delays. Now it finally looks like the weather pattern is changing and the mountains will turn colder and snowier starting on Sunday. That snow will likely continue into Monday. The key right now is for the ski areas to continue building their bases.
Ski areas open as of today:
- Beaver Creek
- Winter Park
- Wolf Creek
- Crested Butte
Opening in December: Telluride, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk, Ski Cooper, Powderhorn, Granby Ranch, Monarch, and Silverton.
