MINNEAPOLIS — He never heard it coming.

An audio technician stepped in front of the Minnesota Vikings as they charged out of the tunnel into US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on Sunday.

The hit cracked the plastic microphone in half.

The sound technician was identified as Bernie Beaudry by a co-worker at WCCO.

NFL Red Zone showed a clip of Beaudry working after the hit, smiling, but with a scrape across his nose. The microphone had been replaced, but he’ll need a new pair of glasses.

Just for reference, 28-year-old defensive tackle Linval Joseph is 6-foot-4, weighs 329 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 5.04 seconds.
