COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — One unit was destroyed and eight others were damaged in a fire at an apartment high-rise on Sunday night, the Colorado Springs Fire Department said.

Firefighters responded to a fire on the fifth floor at the Broadmoor Park Tower (929 Arcturus Drive), according to KRDO.

Several residents on the fifth and sixth floors had to be assisted out of the building, officials said.

KRDO reported one person was treated for smoke inhalation but was not transported to a hospital.

It is unknown how many residents were displaced by the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
