SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- A weird foamy blob spread across Santa Clara Friday, mystifying residents.
The massive expanse looked a bit like snow and a bit like suds. Either way, neighbors decided it was downright weird.
Residents were confused when the blob started oozing out of a building, quickly becoming waist-high. The blob nearly swallowed up a nearby stop sign.
After plenty of speculation, officials announced that the massive surface of foam is actually fire retardant that was being tested.
No word on how or why the blob took on a mind of its own. It continues to fascinate onlookers as it moves in waves, tossing up bits and pieces.
