BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Nintendo’s mini-entertainment center is a giant hit, selling out at Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop and many other retailers.
But now Wal-Mart is giving shoppers two more chances to purchase the NES Classic Edition.
The retailer is offering a limited number of the tiny, retro consoles online at Walmart.com at 3 p.m. MST on Thursday and Friday.
Wal-Mart started with flash sales on Tuesday and Wednesday, but ran out in minutes, according to The Verge.
One person got one in his cart, but then was told the item would be available for pickup on Black Friday. When he tried to change the pickup location, the website said the item was out of stock.
Another man said he was entering his credit card number at checkout when the item suddenly showed up as sold out.
The mini-replica of Nintendo’s original home console has 30 classic games built in and plugs directly into a high-definition TV using an included HDMI cable.
