Vehicle bursts into flames on I-25 after hitting deer

LARKSPUR, Colo. -- A vehicle became fully engulfed in flames after it hit a deer early Wednesday morning.

The incident happened about 5:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Interstate 25 near the East Greenland Road exit, south of Larkspur.

The right lane and the shoulder of the interstate were blocked as fire crews worked to put out the fire, the Colorado Department of Transportation said.

Video from the scene showed the deer on the left shoulder of the interstate.

It's not known if there were any injuries.
