CASTLE ROCK, Colo. — The Douglas County School Board rescinded a voucher program it created in March in a unanimous vote Tuesday night.

The program would have given parents the option to enroll their children in a nonreligious private school.

The School Choice Grant Program was formed after an earlier voucher program that included religious schools was ruled unconstitutional in 2015 by the state Supreme Court.

A judge earlier this year said the School Choice Grant Program was not much different than the 2011 Choice Scholarship Program.
