DENVER — A medical emergency forced police to close southbound Interstate 25 at Colorado Boulevard on Saturday morning. It happened about 8:30 a.m.

Police advised drivers to find alternate routes because traffic was described as being backed up for miles.

One person was taken to a hospital in unknown condition.
