High school students in Denver walk out in protest over presidential election

DENVER -- Hundreds of high school students from Denver Public Schools walked out in protest on Friday afternoon.

The students walked along Federal Boulevard around 1 p.m. to protest the election of Donald Trump for president.

Traffic along Federal continued to move as some drivers seemed to support the students as they peacefully walked and chanted in protest.

Several of the students carried signs. One sign said, “We are not thugs, we are not criminals. We are humans. Just like you Trump.”

Similar protests took place on Wednesday when students from Boulder High School walked out of class to protest the election results.

The protests come one night after thousands of people protested in downtown Denver on Thursday night.
