‘Where Heroes Rest:’ FOX31 visits European cemeteries where Colorado service members are buried

They’re buried by the thousands, in forgotten fields of grass and stone.  Colorado heroes, who never made it home from war.

FOX31 Denver’s Jeremy Hubbard recently traveled to eight U.S. military cemeteries overseas, in places like France, Italy, Luxembourg, Belgium and Netherlands.

He traveled there with The Greatest Generations Foundation, a Denver-based charity devoted to returning war heroes to the battlefields where they served, and teaching young people about the service and sacrifice of those who’ve served in the U.S. military.

Among the places featured in our FOX31 news special, “Where Heroes Rest:”

These foreign cemeteries are maintained by the American Battlefield Monuments Commission, an agency that maintains 25 permanent American military cemeteries and 27 federal memorials, monuments and markers in 16 foreign countries.
