Bill Murray takes random Cubs fan to Game 6 of the World Series in Cleveland

CLEVELAND — One Cubs fan who was facing impossible odds lucked out in a major-league way.

Karen Michel was trying to score a ticket to Game 6 of the World Series on Tuesday night in Cleveland, MLB.com reported.

She struck out at the box office at Progressive Field in Cleveland but instead of an angel in the outfield, her savior appeared right outside the gates.

It was fellow Cubs fan Bill Murray.

“He turns around and says, ‘Here, here’s a ticket,'” MLB.com quoted Michel as saying. “And he kind of shuttled me into the door.”

But her lucky streak didn’t end there.

The ticket was for the seat right next to Murray, a few rows behind home plate, MLB.com reported.

Michel said they chatted about growing up Cubs fans and she even photobombed him with some bunny ears.

Michel, a loyal Cubs fan from Whiting, Ind., seemed to fit right in as she celebrated the Cubs’ 9-3 win in Game 6, which forced a Game 7.

The Cubs and Indians will play Game 7 Wednesday night at 5 p.m. MDT on FOX31.
