CASTLE ROCK, Colo. -- A toddler was rushed to the hospital after falling from a second-story window in Castle Rock on Monday, the Castle Rock Police Department said.

Emergency crews were called to a home in the 6100 block of South Summer Ridge Way.

Officials said the boy, who is nearly 2 years old, was standing on a toy box and pushed the screen out of the window.

He was conscious but suffered serious head injuries, officials said.

Around 7 p.m., the child's grandfather said the toddler was cleared to come home from the hospital.
