One dead, 4 injured in 2-vehicle crash in Englewood

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — One person died and four others were injured in an accident at South Tejon Street and West Evans Avenue on Monday afternoon, the Englewood Police Department said.

Officials said the two-vehicle accident happened shortly after 1 p.m. when a red Ford Mustang traveling southbound on Tejon Street collided with a red Chevrolet Tahoe traveling eastbound on Evans Avenue.

A man inside the Mustang was pronounced dead at the scene, and three others inside the vehicle were taken to area hospitals with critical injuries, police said.

The driver of the Tahoe, the only occupant, was transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries, police said.

It is unknown what caused the accident. Police are continuing to investigate.
