TABERNASH, Colo -- Several firefighters worked to put out a fire that damaged a home early Friday morning in Tabernash near Winter Park, Grand Fire Protection District No. 1 said.

Officials said the fire broke out about 2:30 a.m. in the Winter Park Highlands subdivision.

Four engines, five tenders and three command vehicles from East Grand Fire and Grand Fire responded to the automatic aid fire.

More than 25 firefighters from both districts knocked down the fire, using about 22,000 gallons of water using a tender shuttle from a hydrant on Grand County Road 5221.

The Grand County Sheriff's Office and the Winter Park Police Department provided support, and EMS crews provided rehydration and medical evaluation for the firefighters.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported.
