EVERGREEN, Colo. -- A big cleanup began Wednesday morning as volunteers worked to collect trash that has been illegally dumped in the mountains along Squaw Pass Road.

Everything from TVs to refrigerators have been dumped recently.

The illegal dumping has been going on for months, leaving dumpsters overflowing with trash and garbage.

The volunteers believe it's coming from campers who leave behind the remains of a weekend in the wilderness, or people just too lazy or cheap to properly dispose of their garbage.

Many people in Evergreen believe contractors have been unloading a lot of their junk and debris left over from construction projects.

All of it has become an eyesore -- and all of it is illegal.
