DENVER — Police want to find the man caught in surveillance pictures who they say assaulted a clerk and a customer at a 7-Eleven store in west Denver on Friday.

Investigators said he walked into the store at 2299 W. Alameda Ave. after asking several customers to help him steal cars from a dealership.

The Denver Police Department said he asked the clerk for a cup of coffee and after he got it, threw it in the clerk’s face.

Some customers went to help the clerk and as they forced the suspect out of the store, he turned around and maced one of the customers, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
