Denver police trying to identify aggravated assault suspect

DENVER -- Authorities need the public's help identifying and locating a man accused of aggravated assault.

The Denver Police Department said the man shot a person in the chest with a black handgun around 6:30 a.m. Sunday. The shooting happened in the 4700 block of North Gaylord Street.

The suspect is described as a black man in his early 30s, with an athletic build. He's around 6-foot and was seen on surveillance video wearing a Boston Red Sox hat and glasses.

He's believed to be driving a light-colored four-door sedan, possibly a late 1990s Toyota Camry.
