MORRISON, Colo. — A fire broke out just before 4 p.m. Sunday in Jefferson County, West Metro Fire said.

Firefighters responded to the 15900 block of Ridge Tee Drive on a report of a fire that started in or around the garage.

Flames reached up to 20 feet in the air and smoke could be seen for miles. The homeowner was at home but was outside when the fire started.

The fire spread into the kitchen and the attic, and firefighters had to pull off siding and shingles, and ventilate the roof to get to all the pockets of flames.

The garage was completely destroyed along with a truck.

The kitchen suffered heavy damage and there was smoke damage throughout the rest of the home.

No injuries were reported and investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
