DENVER -- Four shootings in the Denver metro area left two people dead and several others injured, the Denver Police Department said.
On Sunday just before 6:30 a.m., three men were on the street near East 47th Avenue and North Gaylord Street when one of them began shooting.
One person was injured but is expected to survive. A suspect has been identified but no one was in custody as of Sunday afternoon, police said.
Also early Sunday morning, a homeowner confronted an alleged burglar in an east Denver home.
The incident happened about 5:40 a.m. A man was taken to a hospital and was declared dead on Sunday afternoon. It's not known if the victim was the alleged burglar or the homeowner.
On Saturday about 7:15 p.m., two small groups got into a verbal altercation outside a liquor store that led to a shooting, police said.
A man was hit. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. No arrests have been made.
On Saturday just before 6 p.m., shots were reported fire near Bruce Randolph Avenue and York Street.
A teenager suffered a gunshot wound to his foot and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
