DENVER – Students at a Green Valley Ranch High School got a big surprise on Wednesday.
Broncos linebacker and Super Bowl 50 MVP Von Miller stopped by the school to congratulate them on being named a National Blue Ribbon school.
The award honors academic achievement and innovation. Green Valley Ranch High School is one of only about 300 schools in the country to make the list.
"The Blue Ribbon Award is only achieved through great academic success, and it's just a testament to the type of students they have here at Green Valley High School, and the type of students that we have in Denver,” Miller said.
Green Valley Ranch was the only high school in Colorado to be named a Blue Ribbon School this year. Five elementary schools in Colorado also made the list.
