Rangeview High School, Mrachek Middle School put on lockdown after reports of shots fired nearby

AURORA, Colo. — Two schools were put on lockdown while police investigated reports of gunshots a few blocks away, the Aurora Police Department said Tuesday.

Rangeview High School and Mrachek Middle School were placed on lockdown.

Police were investigating reports of shots fired in the area of 17000 E. Adriatic Drive, a police spokeswoman said.

The report of gunshots came in around 1:30 p.m. and the schools were placed on lockdown after that.

Aurora police said they didn’t find anyone who had been injured or a suspect.
