THORNTON, Colo. -- Two girls reported a man made lewd comments and performed a lewd act about a week apart in the same neighborhood this month that Thornton police believe are related, officials said Tuesday.
The first incident happened about 4:50 p.m. on Oct. 3. Police were called to East 134th Avenue and High Street on a report of a man exposing himself to a 12-year-old girl, the Thornton Police Department said.
The girl told investigators that an older, white, four-door sedan with a tan interior pulled up next to her as she was walking home from school and the man asked her to come over.
She then saw the man sitting in the vehicle naked and performing a lewd act before leaving the area, police said.
He was described as a Hispanic male, 30 to 40 years old with a chunky build, short black hair and no facial hair. He was wearing a gold chain link necklace.
On Oct. 11 about 6:30 p.m., police were sent to High and Franklin streets -- about two blocks from the Oct. 3 incident -- on a report of an attempted enticement of a 13-year-old girl.
The girl told police she was walking home when a Hispanic man driving a white, four-door sedan with some type of rack on it pulled up next to her and made lewd, suggestive comments. He then drove away.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, 40 to 50 years old who spoke English with a Spanish accent.
